Woman’s body, clutch found on roadside in Karen

Police are investigating the discovery of a woman’s body along Ngong Road in Karen, Nairobi.

The body was discovered on the evening of Tuesday, August 6, by pedestrians long after the woman had apparently died.

Police said the body had no visible injuries.

However, the team that visited the scene at the Ngong-Karen border and near a bar said there was a clutch next to the body.

Investigators said the victim appeared to be in his 50s.

A kitchen knife with no traces of blood, a pair of rubber shoes, a red scarf and a clutch were recovered at the scene near the body.

Police suspect that the woman was killed elsewhere and the body was dumped at the site.

A motive for the killing has yet to be determined, police said.

Nairobi police chief Adamson Bungei said he was open to all theories on the possible cause of death, including murder and natural death and even suicide.

The body was taken to the morgue pending identification and autopsy.

Meanwhile, police in Runyenjes, Embu County are investigating the killing of a man whose body was discovered in a coffee plantation.

The incident took place in Kyeni North West Location, the police said.

After visiting the scene, the deceased was identified as Kelvin Gitonga Kariuki, 25, who had visible injuries to his left eye, left cheek and right ribs.

Police said they are investigating a murder.

The motive for the crime has not yet been determined.

The scene was processed and the body was taken to Tenri Ena Hospital Mortuary for autopsy examination.

In Menengai area of ​​Nakuru, a farm manager was killed in a confrontation with a group of encroachers on a piece of land.

The land is in the Ngata area and has long been at the center of the dispute, police said.

The manager called the owner of the farm and informed him that about 20 people invaded the farm at 2 am on Tuesday and demolished structures on it.

The group arrived in two vehicles while armed with crude weapons, police said.

The farm manager gathered security and farm employees, leading to a confrontation.

Officers responded to the scene and discovered that the piece of land in question had been the subject of a long-running dispute, with a court visit pending to establish the facts before a ruling.

During the altercation, the farm manager was hit on the head with a rock and rushed to Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The body of the deceased has been transferred to Nakuru Municipal Annex mortuary pending autopsy.

Police said they are looking for the group that invaded the farm for further questioning and processing in the murder investigation.
