Comedian-turned-activist Eric Omondi has sparked controversy by claiming that Kenya currently has no real leaders.

In a candid interview on Radio Maisha, Omondi categorized public figures into three distinct groups: politicians, leaders and freedom fighters.

During the interview, Omondi elaborated on what he believes defines a true leader, citing former US President Barack Obama and the late Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki as examples.

He praised both men for their leadership qualities and compared them to the current situation in Kenya.

However, Omondi argued that Kenya lacks a true leader today.

He specifically doubted Raila Odinga’s abilities, describing him not as a leader but as a freedom fighter.

He further labeled President William Ruto as a mere politician rather than a leader.

“Barack Obama is a leader. Kibaki was a leader. It is a very thin line between a politician and a leader. There is currently no leader in Kenya. Raila Amollo Odinga is a freedom fighter. William Ruto is a politician” , Omondi. he stated.
