Here’s why Israel is the bad guy – Times Herald Online

Pastor Morris Curry (“Harris’ Dereliction of Duty”) asks, “Why is Israel evil?” Let me raise my hand to answer.

Benjamin Netanyahu and the hardliners have for years supported and supported Hamas as a way to destabilize the administration of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, an administration that favors dialogue rather than war with Israel. Abbas was a key author of the Oslo Accords.

Why would they do that? Because he wants to annex the territory of Gaza, and a peaceful Palestine would make this difficult on the world stage. Netanyahu does not want Palestine at all. Google the map of Palestine over the years and see the progress. If it destabilizes the legitimate Palestinian government and makes it appear that all of Palestine is a front for Hamas terrorism, then Netanyahu can commit acts of war on Palestine under the pretext of going after Hamas. As a side benefit, you don’t need a hawkish government unless there’s a big wolf on the doorstep, so he solidifies support for his power base. How is it not treason to aid and abet your country’s enemy for political gain?

On October 7, Hamas showed what a dangerous policy this was. In retaliation, Israel displaced an entire region, directly killing 39,000 people, most of whom were civilians and 13,000 were children. Hamas killed 1200. That’s almost 32 innocent Palestinians for every Israeli killed, 70% women and children.

The death toll in Israel continues and The Lancet estimates that the indirect death toll is likely already over 186,000 as there is now a humanitarian crisis of biblical proportions as infrastructure has been destroyed. There is nothing to return to and nowhere to run for the remaining innocent Palestinians. There is no clean water. There is no food. There is no money. There is no medical care. There is no prospect of a return to normal life, even if Israel stopped this ethnic cleansing today, because there is nothing but rubble to return to. No shops, no jobs, no houses.

Netanyahu blocked humanitarian aid. You, Pastor Curry, are probably preaching about the massacre of the innocents when the king of Judea killed all male children under the age of 2. How can you tolerate this modern version and call yourself a Christian?

Vice President Harris’ refusal to meet with Netanyahu is an act of courage. A bigger one would be for the United States to cut off military aid used to carry out ethnic cleansing. It seems that she is not the one left out, that distinction belongs to every church official who does not denounce this war from the pulpit they occupy.

So why is Israel the bad guy? Because Israel’s leader supports a terrorist organization dedicated to destroying Israel in order to achieve a land grab, make himself and his party relevant, and strengthen his power base. He then uses their activity as an excuse to commit war crimes to carry out genocide. The Israeli people have a seat on the fringes of his politics and voted for him anyway. That’s why.
