Farm Member Cali Bellow Releases New Solo EP ‘Goldin Scepter / Get Inside’: Stream

Agriculture LA Band has a sound they call “Ecstatic Black Metal” and they’ve been working hard to let the world know that label is no bullshit. Last year, Agricultura released their self-titled album and made our list of new favorite bands. This year, they followed up their LP with the new one Living is easy EP. Agricultural singer/bassist Leah B. Levinson has been making solo music under the name Cali Bellow for a long time, and today she drops an EP of her own.

The music Levinson makes as Cali Bellow sounds absolutely nothing like what he makes with farming, but it’s just as extreme. Judging by her new EP Goldin Scepter / Go insideCali Bellow makes an experimental strain of do-it-yourself hyperpop, with compositions so choppy they can wreak havoc on your nervous system. The new EP is an early taste of her upcoming album Hi Bella. It’s three long songs and is over in just over four minutes. I don’t know what I expected, but it wasn’t this. Listen below.
