Almost five years after Jon Bernthal was seen flirting with Daredevil Daredevil Season 2 finale, the character will make an epic return to the future Daredevil: Born Again. Originally a Force Recon officer, the Punisher is forced into vigilantism after the loss of his family and is seen determined to clean up Hell’s Kitchen. The two characters are even seen engaging in an epic battle before Bernthal’s character shoots Daredevil and escapes.
As it turns out, that particular scene didn’t just leave an impact on viewers. Conversely, the same was true for Charlie Cox, as Bernthal revealed in an interview that he almost broke the Daredevil actor’s ribs while filming a certain scene.

Two of the most popular Marvel characters to have gotten their start in TV shows, fans have been constantly clamoring for Daredevil and The Punisher to join the mainstream MCU. And while that did come true in a way for Daredevil, who was previously seen in Spider-Man: No Way Home, the same didn’t happen with Bernthal’s intense superhero.

Regardless, through Daredevil series, fans were treated to the next best thing, as we saw the two duking it out in Season 2. As it turns out, during the filming of the epic scene, Bernthal took a shot at Cox in the chest, which almost ended up breaking them. ribs:

It hit me so hard in the chest that I couldn’t breathe like I was wind. I had to take a minute.

Cox revealed the above after being asked about Bernthal’s broken nose. Punisher and zombies the star had his nose broken at least “15 times”, but luckily none of those incidents happened during filming Daredevil.

Following his release deadpool and wolverine, more major TV shows and movies will be making their way to our screens in the coming period, leading to familiar hype. Apart from Agatha All Along and Captain America: Brave New World, fans are excited too Daredevil: Born Again, and they have every right to be so.

As the original series continues to be recognized as one of Marvel’s most popular creations in recent years, Jon Bernthal believes fans will enjoy the upcoming series even more:

We are all here, we are all extremely happy to be with each other, we are proud of what we have done. If you’re a fan of the (previous) show, you’ll be extremely happy. I think if you’re a fan of the show you’ve seen before, you’ll be a fan of this. I think we’re just taking it one step further.

While it’s not clear what taking things “one step further” means, there are a number of possibilities. The Punisher and Daredevil might as well be on their way to the MCU mainstream once and for all. On the other hand, the actor can simply refer to an epic team, which can also be expected to generate incessant hype among the viewers.

Daredevil: Born Again it is expected to be released in March 2025.
