The Ivey is a North Carolina recognized group respite program (not certified or licensed) four afternoons a week from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The shorter program continued to provide temporary daytime help, support and education to family members and other primary caregivers supporting people with early cognitive concerns.
The caregiver resource offering has expanded to include not only counseling and support for families in the Respite Club, but also to include families in the greater Charlotte community, regardless of whether their loved ones attend The Ivey(r). Believing in the power of education to promote a brain-healthy lifestyle for aging well, a 12-week workshop program has been launched for the Charlotte community. Offered on Friday mornings in three 12-week sessions per year, this program convenes professional experts in the field to deliver specially curated educational workshops on six topics universally known as the pillars of brain health.
