Season 2 of Guy Ritchie’s The Gentleman has been officially confirmed

Guy Ritchie’s Netflix series The Gentlemen has been renewed for a second season.

Lead actors Theo James and Kaya Scodelario will return as main characters Eddie Horniman and Susie Glass, respectively. Daniel Ings will also return as Eddie’s brother Freddy, perhaps the most memorable character from season one due to his cocaine-fueled downfall while dressed as a chicken.

Variety, which broke the news, says new cast additions will be announced soon and that filming is slated for next year.

The vice president of UK content for Netflix told the publication: “With its gun-toting chicks and drug-dealing Dukes, Gentlemen was a big hit with audiences in 2024. It’s not really a surprise, as Guy Ritchie remains one of the most emblematic creators of the industry. quintessentially British storytelling, with its grit, earnestness and wit.

“We’re thrilled that the series is returning to Netflix for a second season, and we can’t wait to see what happens when the worlds of old money and drug money collide once again.”

Following the misadventures of a man who inherits an estate only to discover it is being used as the base of a drug empire, the first season of The Gentlemen received a strong critical reception upon release.

The digital spyHis own review said: “The closest thing we’ve seen in years to the boldly chic gangster Ritchie has made a name for himself. That’s Snatch Ritchie, The Lock, Stock Ritchie, and for dyed in the wool fans, RocknRolla Ritchie.

“… As in his best ensemble efforts, the cast of homegrown talent plays quirky characters that keep you coming back.”

Season 1 of The Gentlemen is now available to stream on Netflix. The 2019 Ritchie film on which the show is based must be purchased digitally or on disc.
