Security failures discovered in the tragic case of a trainee doctor

In a shocking incident, the National Commission for Women (NCW) has alleged that the crime scene where a 31-year-old trainee doctor was raped and murdered in a Kolkata hospital has undergone sudden renovations, raising concerns about tampering with evidence .

The NCW investigation revealed serious lapses in security and infrastructure at the state-run hospital. The investigation found the absence of security guards during the incident, leaving interns, doctors and nurses without adequate protection, especially during night shifts.

Adding to the gravity of the situation, the hospital was found to lack basic facilities for female medical staff, exacerbating conditions for those who work long hours. The NCW has called for a general investigation and immediate action to address these alarming issues.
