No one was injured after the boat fires on the Mohawk River

An investigation is underway after a fire broke out Tuesday night at the Mohawk Valley Marina.

Alplaus Fire Chief Glenn Craig said the first boat caught fire in the marina and flames spread to other boats. He said there was talk of an explosion, but that was still under investigation.

Craig said people were nearby when it happened, but no one was hurt.

DEC was on site to monitor the environmental impact. Craig said they will be back tomorrow to monitor the situation.
