KCPD is asking residents near the scene of the shooting to check security cameras

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Homicide detectives in Kansas City, Missouri are hoping residents can help them with an investigation into a shooting in early August.

KCPD said anyone living along Gregory Boulevard between Paseo and Oak who may have doorbells or other camera recordings should check between 4:12 a.m. and 4:15 a.m. on Aug. 4, 2024.

That morning, officers were called to the area on a call that led them to two victims, a man and a woman, who had been shot in a vehicle. Both victims were taken to hospital. The man was in stable condition and was later released. The woman had life-threatening injuries and died on Monday.

Police identified the woman as 21-year-old Shamya Oliver.
