The officer’s body camera shows the scene after the fatal stabbing in Palmhill Lane

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – Bodycam video released Tuesday by the Green Township Police Department showed the scene after a man killed his mother and critically injured his father in a stabbing Friday.

Kenneth Mortimer, 40, is in the Hamilton County Jail on $2 million bail after the attack at his parents’ Palmhill Lane home.

Mortimer faces charges of murder and attempted murder. Police say the stabbing happened after an argument.

Body camera video shows officers finding one of the victims, the suspect’s 75-year-old father, bloodied and sitting on his front porch.

“Who did this?” an officer asks.

“My son,” the victim replied.

“OK, what’s his name?” asked the officer.

“Kenneth,” he said.

According to court documents, Mortimer grabbed a knife from the kitchen and began stabbing his parents. Mortimer’s mother tried to run away but was chased by his son.

Cincinnati police later found Mortimer in Mt. Airy.

“We read him his rights because he already spilled stuff right away,” one officer said.

Records say Mortimer was arrested for public indecency in October. He was charged with a parole violation in January for “failure to comply with special conditions of correctional thinking.”

Court documents say he was taken to the Green Township Police Department, where he confessed to stabbing his parents.

He is scheduled to appear in court on August 15.
