The DNC is trying to sell Harris to voters by bringing out Obama and Clinton

Even if the DNC is a hot mess, it will be framed to look positive. How do I know? It’s been going on since Joe Biden went downhill during his debate with Donald Trump.

The Democratic Party reminds me of the scene in “The Wizard of Oz” when Dorothy and her friends finally arrive in the Emerald City only to see that “the great and mighty Oz” is actually just an old man behind a curtain pretending to be an omniscient being.

“Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain,” Oz shouted frantically to no avail.

As the Democratic National Convention convenes on Monday, voters should do one thing: ignore the loud messages and look at what’s behind it all.

The DNC organizers will do everything they can to put on a good show. But it’s a facade. The Democratic Party is promoting terrible policies that will hurt Americans.

Biden, Obama and Clinton, oh my!

President Joe Biden and former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton are scheduled to speak Monday night. Former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton are expected to speak on Tuesday and Wednesday. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, the vice presidential candidate, is expected to follow Bill Clinton, and presidential nominee Kamala Harris will close the convention Thursday night.

By bringing in Clinton and Obama, the party’s quietest and most charismatic former leaders, the DNC is projecting a not-so-subtle message: Vote for us and you’ll get this.

But the Harris-Walz ticket is nothing like Bill Clinton or Barack Obama. In terms of substance and politics, they are much worse.

Socialist policies: Harris’ economic plan promises voters affordable food and housing. Don’t you dare.

In terms of charisma and style, they don’t come close to the appeal of former presidents.

The DNC hopes high-profile Democratic poster leaders will serve as a distraction. They want to manufacture enough nostalgia for Clinton and Obama that voters won’t notice that Harris and Walz are awful.

Biden, Harris and Walz are a disaster

Last month showed that the Democratic Party is a dishonest mess. Biden was sidelined after it became clear he was no longer fit to run — and that he was about to lose badly to former President Donald Trump.

Suddenly, without running for a single mayor, Harris became the party’s nominee. The speed of Biden’s departure and Harris’ promotion is unprecedented in the nation’s modern political history. But the Democrats pressed on, because there is no time to question the legitimacy of the process.

Harris then ripped Walz, one of the most liberal governors who leads one of the most progressive states in the country. And together they smile and laugh the whole way, like this is all normal and good for America.

But don’t be fooled. The Democrats have been dishonest about their mess from the start.

The Democratic Party’s ideas are also bad. The Harris-Walz ticket advocates far-left policies that may sound benign by trying to help the middle class and low-income households, but if implemented, would increase government spending, raise taxes and hurt the finances of many Americans.

The media will turn on you too, just wait and see

Even if the DNC is a hot mess, it will be framed to look positive.

How do I know? It’s been going on since Biden dropped out during his debate with Trump on June 27.

Without even an interview, Time magazine featured a drawing of Harris staring skyward on its cover with a headline declaring it “HER MOMENT.”

An Essence cover headline is just as kind – “KAMALA HARRIS: PURPOSE, POWER & FREEDOM”.

Now, contrast that with Trump’s media coverage. Here’s a recent Vanity Fair headline: “Does Anyone Know What Donald Trump’s Talking About?”

The difference in coverage is laughable.

I know Trump is awful. But he’s still better for America than Harris.

The way the news media turned on Harris reminds me of a line from the movie “Gladiator” after Commodus staged his coup and barrels into Rome on a chariot. “He enters Rome as a conquering hero,” observes Gracchus. – What did he conquer?

In America in 2024, if you’re the Democratic Party, your presidential candidate doesn’t have to conquer anything, or even agree to an interview, to be hailed as a leader.

The DNC will be a cacophony of charismatic headliners, but behind the heavy curtain is a party in chaos, trying to push its candidates and left-wing policies as solutions to America’s problems.
