Coatesville Youth Initiative to host backpack giveaway and Community Day on August 17 – Daily Local

COATESVILLE — Coatesville Youth Initiative (CYI) is excited to announce its upcoming Community Day and Backpack Giveaway on Saturday, August 17th from 10:00am to 1:00pm at 545 East Lincoln Highway, Coatesville.

Faith-Based Coalition, sponsored by the Coatesville Area Faith-Based Coalition, aims to give local children the tools they need for a successful school year while bringing the community together for fun and festivities.

At the heart of the event, CYI along with Penn Medicine, will provide students in grades K-12 with backpacks filled with essential school supplies. Please note that preschool school bags will not be available and all families should have pre-registered to secure a school bag. Additionally, all participants must be present at the event to receive their backpacks.

In addition to the backpack giveaway, the event promises a variety of exciting activities for the whole family, including a moon bounce, face painting, a children’s area, a water tank, a bike ride.

“We are excited to offer this event to support the youth and families of the Coatesville community as they prepare for the upcoming school year,” said Jarvis Berry, Executive Director.
