Easton band Off the Coast set for debuts at Fallout Shelter in Norwood

Lots of music happening as summer winds down, and we’ll include the rest of August highlights here.

Dark Star Orchestra is not just a Grateful Dead tribute; they do specific concert re-creations accurate to the last note, at The South Shore Music Circus in Cohasset. Slipknot thunders into The Xfinity Center in Mansfield. The Blackburn Brothers’ rock and blues at the Fallout Shelter in Norwood. Blues guitarist extraordinaire Sue Foley lights up the Narrows Center in Fall River. California ska-rock with Save Ferris at Brighton Music Hall.

Danny Gallagher Band rocks the Ruth Gordon Amphitheater in Quincy. Cleveland funk-rock sextet Tropidelic gets Soundcheck Studios in Pembroke moving. The C Note in Hull features three bands, including Drama Dolls with Hingham’s own Lisa Pimentel. Scarab rocks The Hingham Launch free concert series. Bluesman Larry McCray at the Spire Center in Plymouth. Sounds of the bayou when the Honey Island Swamp Band arrives at the Narrows Center in Fall River. Easton indie-rock band Off the Coast – formerly known as Urban Lunchmeat – debuts at the Fallout Shelter in Norwood. The virtuoso acoustic blues duo of Paul Rishell and Annie Raines takes over Club Passim in Harvard Square. Ken Carson’s hip-hop for two nights at Roadrunner in Allston.

The 10-piece R&B outfit Perfect Example finds the groove at Soundcheck Studios in Pembroke. French Montana raps at The House of Blues in Boston. Neat throwback rock bill at The Xfinity Center in Mansfield, with ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Hey Nineteen, the Steely Dan tribute, at the Spire Center in Plymouth. KC and the Sunshine Band get The South Shore Music Circus in Cohasset dancing. Disney’s High School Musical star Joshua Bassett brings his solo show to MGM Music Hall in Boston. Disco Dream gets down at The C Note in Hull. Conway the Machine raps at Brighton Music Hall. Jerry Vivino, the sax man from the band on the Conan O’Brien Show, brings his quartet to the Fallout Shelter in Norwood. Washed Out – the songwriter also known as Ernest Greene Jr. – holds court at The Paradise Rock Club in Boston.

The Gaslight Anthem’s latest rock is worth a trip to MGM Music Hall in Boston. 30 Seconds to Mars rocks The Xfinity Center in Mansfield. Country’s fast-rising Ashley McBryde sings at The South Shore Music Circus in Cohasset. Suzanne McNeil sings at Tony’s Clam Shop in Quincy at 5 pm Heavy metal roars from Crown the Empire at The Paradise Rock Club in Boston.

Coming attractions

MONDAY: King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard and their blend of rock and funk at The Stage at Suffolk Downs in Revere.

TUESDAY: One of the summer’s best double-bills, when Blues Traveler and Big Head Todd and the Monsters take over The South Shore Music Circus in Cohasset.

WEDNESDAY: Pink takes over Gillette Stadium in Foxboro and gets there early because Sheryl Crow is opening. Legendary guitarist Jorma Kaukonen, from Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna, at the Narrows Center in Fall River. Creed is still rocking, at The Xfinity Center in Mansfield.
