Stephen Curry weighs in on the Drake feud with Kendrick Lamar

The quarrel between Kendrick Lamar and Drake may have fallen out recently, but people are still voicing their opinion on their ongoing beef. In a recent interview with GQNBA player Stephen Curry expressed his support for longtime friend Drake.

Lamar dropped Curry on his track “Meet The Grahams,” released in May, invoking the basketball star while accusing Drake of pedophilia. “Hey Curry, keep the family away/ For anyone who embodies love for the kids, keep the family away,” Lamar spits on the track. “He looks at you too if you stay near him, keep the family away.”

Despite this, Curry stands by Drake. When asked if he wanted to comment on the beef, Curry said GQ, “I’m a big Drake guy. I have been for a long time. I think you obviously know what it means to the rap industry to have that, but I’m still with Drake. Absolute. Absolute.”

Lamar and Drake’s feud has escalated since March. It became so ubiquitous in pop culture that it was referenced Danger! and was turned into a viral video game. The beef started when Lamar took aim at Drake with his verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That” in March, also calling out J. Cole on the track. Cole responded to Lamar with a track of his own, but later apologized for it.

In April, Drake dropped Rick Ross and A$AP Rocky alongside Lamar with “Push Ups,” which hit The Weekend. The offense grew in the months after, reworking numerous songs, including “Meet the Grahams,” which unfolds as a series of verses directed at Drake’s family members, culminating in a disturbing allegation that Drake has an unclaimed 11-year-old child. daughter.

Immediately after, Drake only addressed the allegation that he has an unclaimed daughter, writing on Instagram, “Can someone find my hidden daughter and send her to me please… these boys are falling apart.”

In May, Rolling Stone declared Lamar the winner of the conflict, though things have continued to unfold in the month since, including one of Drake’s security guards being shot outside his Toronto home.

Last month, Childish Gambino weighed in on the rap beef, saying in an Instagram Live video, “This year, the most fun we’ve had since a fight. (It was a fight song, a rap beef, and I enjoyed every minute of it. It was a lot of fun. But still kind of negative in a certain light, I guess.)
