Kamala Harris quotes Quavo to criticize Donald Trump as rapper speaks at Atlanta rally

Kamala Harris has borrowed a line from Quavo to go after Donald Trump in response to his criticism of President Joe Biden’s policies on the southern border.

The vice president called Trump to a campaign rally at the Georgia State Convocation Center on Tuesday (July 30). She highlighted her record as California’s attorney general before turning the tables on her political rival with a verse from Migos’ 2018 hit, “Walk. That, speak.”

“We have gone after transnational gangs, drug cartels and human traffickers who have entered our country illegally,” Harris said. “I went after them case after case and won.

“Donald Trump, on the other hand, has talked a big game about securing our border, but he doesn’t walk the walk,” Harris added. “Or as my friend Quavo would say, he doesn’t walk like he talks.”

Later in her speech, Kamala Harris challenged Donald Trump to a debate after he said he wanted to wait until after the Democratic National Convention.

“Donald, I hope you’ll reconsider meeting me on the debate stage. Because as they say, if you got something to say, say it to my face,” she said before the crowd erupted.

Meanwhile, Quavo gave an impassioned opening speech at the rally, stating his commitment to ending gun violence.

“One thing I’ve learned about working with Vice President Harris is that she’s always in business,” Quavo said. “From being invited to the White House last year to discuss these solutions to passing the biggest gun safety laws today.”

He continued, “So it’s just the birthplace of culture, it’s also the same place to launch the first African-American woman to run for president.”

Quavo ended with a call to action: “So if you’ve never voted before, make sure you get out and vote right now because it’s the real deal.”
