Investigation Discovery Announces Halloween Specials, Including One Exploring The ‘True Murders On Elm Street’ — GeekTyrant

Investigation Discovery has announced a slew of true-crime docuseries for the Halloween season, including How (not) to get rid of a body (September 4), The True Crimes of Elm Street (September 9) and Cabin in the woods (September 9).

The one that caught my attention was The True Crimes of Elm Streetwhich explores the many real-life crimes that have taken place on various Elm Streets in America.

While it doesn’t necessarily cover the real-life inspirations behind Wes Craven’s classic horror film, it certainly provides an interesting perspective

How (not) to get rid of a body “explores the lengths the killers took to get away with murder. Each episode reveals never-before-seen material and tells the story of criminal masterminds who go to great lengths to create plans to eliminate their victims. However, the country’s best detectives are determined to solve these crimes and bring them to light.”

Six part series The True Crimes of Elm Street explores “small suburban America towns that have been torn apart by crime. One wonders how, in one night, these residential streets descend from peace and tranquility into horror, senseless death and tragedy. Each episode will examine a murder investigation that took place on one of America’s many Elm Streets.”

finally, Cabin in the woods “explores the crimes that take place in remote cabins across the country. It includes elements of investigation in a real way that meets real horror.”
