BALTIMORE — A 56-year-old man was fatally shot Friday night in the 600 block of Springfield Avenue, according to the Baltimore Police Department. North District officers responded to the scene at approximately 6:21 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. Despite the quick response, the man was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.

  • 24-year-old shot multiple times, killed in Weehawken

    WEEHAWKEN, NJ — A 24-year-old man was fatally shot Thursday night in Weehawken, prompting an investigation by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Weehawken Police Department. The victim, identified as Jhonnier Gamboa Acosta, was found with gunshot wounds in the area of ​​Park Avenue between 37th Street and 41st Street shortly after 7 p.m.

    The police intervened on the scene after receiving information about shots fired. Acosta was transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 8:14 p.m. The cause and manner of death are pending an examination by the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

    A suspect, 67-year-old Juan Perez, was taken into custody during the preliminary investigation by members of the Union City and Weehawken Police Departments. Perez was charged with murder, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He is being held at the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance.
