Trump to Stephen King, Harris’ remark goes viral: ‘Tell me it’s not true’

Horror author Stephen King appeared in disbelief at the thought of former President Donald Trump calling Vice President Kamala Harris a “chairman.”

Although usually a vocal critic of Trump, King turned to X, ex-Twitter, in hopes that someone could credibly deny that the Republican presidential nominee used the word in reference to his Democratic opponent.

“Did Trump really call Kamala Harris an ab****? Please tell me that, at least, it’s not true,” King wrote in a post that has been viewed more than 5 million times.

One user replied to his post: “I hope he did!” King then retweeted that comment, adding: “Looks like he did.”

The author’s question started from a New York Times article published on August 10. The report, under the headline “In the worst three weeks of Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign,” said Trump was in a bad mood and referred to Harris using the term derogatorily.

“Indeed, Mr. Trump has often been in a bad mood over the past few weeks,” the article said.

“He ranted about Ms. Harris. He called her “ugly” on “Fox & Friends” and a “t****” repeatedly in private, according to two people who heard the remark on separate occasions. “, he continued.

The Trump campaign denied the claim, with spokesman Steven Cheung quoted in the report as saying, “That’s not the language President Trump used to describe Kamala, and that’s not how the campaign would characterize her.”

X users reacted to King’s post to support or denounce Trump’s alleged remarks, with one writing: “He can call her whatever he wants as long as in November he calls her President Harris.”

“Of course Trump called Kamala Harris an ab****. “A bully is always a coward.” Donald is the character of a bully,” added another.

One commenter said: “You called him Hitler, a rapist, an extremist, she helped arrest him, lied about him everyday etc. She is in a daze. Go cry.”

– How would it be wrong if it were wrong? one user wrote. “Kamala crashed our economy and abandoned our border. What would you call a person who does that?”

Trump and Harris are set to face off in the November presidential election, and a recent poll predicted the Electoral College vote total would favor Harris over Trump.

The EconomistHis national forecasting model, which was released Friday, found that Harris and Trump had about a 1 in 2 chance of winning the Electoral College.

The Electoral College is a system that gives each state a certain number of votes based on population. A candidate must get 270 electoral votes to win, as winning the national popular vote does not guarantee the White House.

The election forecast shows that the median likely range of total electoral votes for Harris is 272, while Trump’s is 266.
