Details: The Air Assault Force emphasized that the key factors in the initial phase of the operation were thorough preparation, planning, surprise, fighting spirit and maintaining informational silence.

They added that the outcome now depends on the resistance of Ukrainian soldiers from all branches of the military involved in the operation.

Background: According to open sources, the core of the Kursk operation consisted of two brigades of the Air Assault Forces of Ukraine – the legendary 80th Lviv Brigade and the newly formed 82nd Chernivtsi Brigade. In the second week of the operation, they were joined by part of the 95th Air Assault Brigade.
