AG dismisses criminal charges against former LA County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl – Whittier Daily News

After an investigation of almost two years, the General Prosecutor’s Office of the state announced on Wednesday. Aug. 7, that he declined to pursue criminal charges against former Los Angeles County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl stemming from allegations of political corruption.

Prosecutors also declined to file charges against Patti Giggans, director of the nonprofit organization Peace Over Violence. The investigation centered on allegations that Kuehl, a longtime close friend of Giggans, helped steer a series of no-bid Metro contracts to Peace Over Violence while Kuehl served on the Metro Board.

According to the state Attorney General’s Office, the investigation also found insufficient evidence to file charges related to allegations that Kuehl and Giggans were notified of planned sheriff’s department raids on their homes and offices on September 14, 2022.

Sheriff’s investigators also served search warrants that day at Metro offices and the Metro Office of the Inspector General.
